After a long delay on Saturday morning as a result of faulty mountain timing wire, the race finally got underway. Lakeridge Varsity Boys were the first to run, and definitely didn’t disappoint. After the first run, captain Will Johnson was in 3rd (45.61), Connor Hilts was in 9th (49.21), and Alex Johnson was in 11th (50.08), putting the boys team in 3rd behind West Linn and Lake Oswego. The conditions held up, with firm snow giving the guys the opportunity to put down a great 2nd run, which they did. Johnson again, coming in 3rd second run, with a time of 44.42, captain Cooper Lawhead in 7th with 45.48, and Hilts in 8th with 46.67. With solid two solid runs, they were able overtake Lake Oswego and jump into 2nd place as a team!
On the girls team, Izzy Hoffman had a great day! After her first run she was in 2nd place by only .41 behind Lake Oswego’s Nicole Danilevsky. Second run, Hoffman put down an incredible time, beating the competition by over 2 seconds, and taking the win! Sabrina Achar-Winkels, Annika Siddons, and Audrey Finlay all had great runs yesterday, and contributed to the girls team time.
Congratulations to all of the Pacer racers! Next weekend they will be racing Giant Slalom at Ski Bowl on Saturday. Full results from this weekend: http://www.ski3rivers.org/results/2016Season/Race1/Race1Results.htm
