Multiple Teams · Boys Basketball Summer Information

Greetings Pacer Families and Faithful, hopefully this message finds you all doing well and the 2017 school year is successfully coming to an end.  In the following, I will attempt to offer information regarding Summer Basketball and the plans we have for existing and incoming Pacer Hoopers.

Summer Hoops will begin with tryouts starting Tuesday May 30th, 7pm at Lakeridge High School (this date has been pushed out a week from the email sent out earlier this spring).  In our never ending pursuit to improve the Pacer Program, June is High School Basketball month and the month most AAU and club teams take a break to allow high school coaches to prepare for next season. We have a full month of basketball planned.  We will begin with the Hoop Source Tournament the 1st weekend in June and conclude the last weekend in June with University of Oregon Team Camp.  (Players invited to U of O Team Camp have already been notified in a separate email).

Summer Basketball Tryouts

Basketball tryouts for ALL TEAMS (Freshman, JV and Varsity) will be held Tuesday, May 30th and Wednesday, May 31st at Lakeridge High School Lower Gym from 7pm to 9pm.

We understand not all players that plan to play basketball during the “regular” season will be participating in Summer ball.  Also understand, with only 2 days of tryouts and only filling 3 teams, not all players that tryout will make a team, and/or be placed on the team they desire to play on.  To that, the suggestions of the Pacer Coaching staff is to PLAY….and continue to work and improve your individual basketball skills for a better outcome in November.

Once teams are selected, we plan to practice June 1st at 7pm, and depending on what our tournament game schedule is for June 2nd, to begin games on June 3rd.  More details to come once teams are selected and tournament schedule is out.

After Summer Hoops, concluding the last weekend of June, we will begin our training sessions again.  Last year we offered the purchase of a Pacer Training Card, which offered 10 training sessions for $300.  We will be in the gym training players thru-out the summer and up until fall ball starts so, SEE YOU ALL IN THE GYM.  Also, please forward this email to anyone you know of that is interested in playing Lakeridge Basketball but has been left off this list.
