The final day of the Oregon High School Tennis Tournament featured schools battling for 5th place, 3rd place and 1st place.
Dalton Stormo and Joon Lee lost in their bid for 5th place to a very determined Summit team in the fourth doubles competition.
Jack Ninteman cruised early and then had to battle back from a break down in the third set to secure third place in the first singles competition.
Nathan Mittelstadt and Tyler Pyle posted a convincing victory in their third place match for third doubles.
Ethan Davies and Dante Sterling battled back from a break down twice in the opening set, but the third break was the final straw. An excellent Jesuit team won in straight sets to take third place in the first doubles competition.
The highlight of the tournament for the Pacers was the play of Andrew Slominski and Colton Lowry in the second doubles competition. Slominski and Lowry finished with a perfect 3-0 record and took the crown in their division. The final victory was against a very strong Jesuit pair. Slominski’s strong serving and excellent volleys coupled with Lowry’s wicked wide serves to the ad court and crushing returns of serve proved too much for Jesuit’s duo. Match point featured one of Lowry’s incredible short-angled serves to the ad court which the Jesuit player could not return.
Jesuit was the overall tournament winner, but Lakeridge posted a respectable 4th place finish behind Lincoln and Summit.
